I work in a hospital, and one of my patients told me how after being in a devastating car accident a Jin Shin practioner would visit her each day in the intensive care unit and help her overcome daily challenges. The nurses became believers as they watched her progress -- she is considered a medical miracle by her doctors, who predicted a very negative outcome. I spoke with a Reiki practioner about this art, who told me her neighbor was a Jin Shin practioner; she wrote her name and the finger holds down on a piece of paper for me. I put the paper away for "later use" and three years passed. In July 2009 I ended up in the ER with pneumonia; doctors were mystified as to why someone as healthy as I would be hit that hard and fast. It took three weeks for a diagnosis of valley fever, during which time I developed many symptoms including lesions and severe joint pain. There was very little information on the disease, its treatment and expected course; I was feeling very alone and scared, as each day seemed to bring a new symptom. I decided I had to be proactive about getting well and, remembering my patient's dramatic recovery, searched the web for a local Jin Shin practioner (not being able to locate the paper with the name on it). I found a listing for Debbie Waxman, and liking the idea of a fully integrated medical/alternative care practice, called for an appointment. Debbie didn't have an opening for a couple of weeks, but when I explained to the receptionist that I was experiencing Valley Fever complications, she said she had found a cancellation for the next Monday (I later found out she had given up her own appointment with Debbie for me -- the entire office is uniformly generous and kind).
When meeting Debbie, it is very easy to see what a warm, caring and humorous individual she is -- she has a ready smile for all. I felt very comfortable with her (I don't cry often and certainly not in public, but I admit I broke down on Debbie; she offered a hug and the assurance she could help me, and I believed her). I left her office that day feeling dramatically better, both physically and mentally stronger, and she gave me flows to do myself at home. I saw Debbie twice a week, and each time came away feeling much better; she helped reduce the joint pain and the side effects from the medication went away. I feel my recovery time was greatly reduced, and I was able to stop taking the medication much sooner than predicted. But perhaps the most impressive "side" benefit was that after a couple of weeks I noticed that not only was I feeling much better physically, but that mentally I was much happier, more even keeled. Stressful events didn't seem to phase me as before, and I felt like I had dumped years of negativity -- not to be dramatic, but it felt like my soul was much lighter!
The valley fever is behind me now, but I continue to see Debbie on a regular basis -- I feel Jin Shin is one of the best things I can possibly do for my mental and physical well-being. We work on whatever challenges I'm having (she's banished my hot flashes, bless her!). And I really like that Debbie enjoys sharing her knowledge and teaching, allowing me to practice flows for myself at home. I've got my teenage daughter seeing her now also. Oh, and I found the piece of paper... it was Debbie's name written on the back. Fate? Great fortune!

This is a note for the amazing work that Innovative Primary Care did for my husband, Lessert Moore. Lessert is an Oglala Lakota Medicine Man who was frustrated with the medical establishment since up until this point, no one had been able to help him.
Dr. Levitt and Debbie Waxman’s healing work and social support were truly blessings in the last year. I had been praying for help for him for so long. Lessert suffers from chronic pain for the last 11 years. In the last two years, Lessert saw specialists for his back and chronic body pain. Dr. Levitt was the very first medical doctor to conduct a thorough examination and diagnose him with fibromyalgia. No one provided such a comprehensive medical examination like Dr. Levitt before. Her diagnosis and prescription regimen had Lessert off the harsh pain pills that were doing more harm than good. Dr. Levitt’s compassionate approach and empathy are rare facets in the revolving door of medical care. Dr. Levitt took the time to listen to Lessert and understand his pain. She was sympathetic to his frustrations that he endured over the years. She didn’t make judgments. She excluded harsh and highly addictive prescriptions from his medication regime.
Debbie Waxman, Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner (Debbie) has helped Lessert immensely. Her healing touch is exceptional. Debbie and Lessert hit it off immediately with their shared sense of humor and appreciation for laughter. Debbie listened to Lessert. Sometimes that’s all that was necessary at the time. Her gift is unique in hearing others pain and supporting them through their illness. She is a compassionate woman with a heart of gold. She was an advocate for my husband and supported him and our family during difficult times. She intuitively knew how to help and what to say to Lessert. She helped us weather the worst and most challenging days. She was very knowledgeable about his illness and this was evident in her treatment. Debbie won’t ever be at a loss for patients since she’s a well that nourishes the body and soul.
Soon after Lessert’s enrollment at Innovative Primary Care, Lessert contracted Valley Fever. Both health care practitioners are very busy women yet both took their time and did thorough work with Lessert. Their guiding leadership in helping combat valley fever was above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Levitt and Debbie took the offensive and ensured he had the state of the art medicines and therapeutic regime available to combat the disease. Dr. Levitt and Debbie are dedicated health care professionals who have the foresight to recognize that illness isn’t only about the physical symptoms that are manifesting in the body. Their practice integrates alternative healing methods that also pay attention to the unconscious and spiritual aspects to wellness. They integrated his illness on a transpersonal level that cemented a bond between him and them that carried to his entire family. Both women and their practice is a haven for those suffering from ill health. The entire staff treated Lessert exceptionally well. I highly recommend Innovative Primary Care to anyone who believes in client-centered and integrative medicine. I am thankful that my prayers were answered. We are blessed to know them.
Our son, Wica’hpi adds, “Thank you for helping my dad.”
Our daughter says, “Thank you so much for helping my dad. One time I remember it was my brother’s birthday. He couldn’t (dad) play outside because his headache was so bad. Now, he hardly gets headaches. It’s rare when he does..”
Wopila! We love you so much!
Mitakyasin!
Eternally grateful,

I
am an 86 year old male, schooled in medical forensics as a former
Investigator.
I
suffer from a condition known as Stenosis. Briefly a condition involving the
L4-L5 vertebrae with etiology caused from injury or other conditions
resulting in Osteoarthritis. This causes the spinal canal to compress on the
vessels housed in the canal, mainly the Sciatic Nerve. The result is pain
flowing to the back, hip, leg and foot, also causing weakness in the limb.
It is very painful.
I
am currently under treatment by a Certified Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner by
the name of Debbie Waxman, on staff at Innovative Primary Care. This is an
ancient healing art done through the power of touch. One wears clothes
during the session. There is no use of medicine, drugs or substances. It
helps to controll nerve flows, ridding the body of toxins and waste.
My
results have been awesome! After each session I am pain free and flexible in
my limbs, free from stress.
I have witnessed many persons in the waiting room and leaving their session
stating: “She’s so great; look, no pain and I feel good…”

I am a 53 year old female with the diagnosis of Systemic Lupus,
Hypertension, Arthritis and most recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have
lived in pain for many years and had begun to believe that it simply would
always be a part of my life. I have tried over the past year to control the pain
and fatigue with exercise and medication. Although the exercise has helped to
strengthen my muscles and the medication has helped with sleep, I continued to
suffer daily with muscle pain, fatigue & depression. It was becoming a vicious
circle: pain, fatigue & depression.
It
was then that I learned of something called Jin Shin Jyutsu and decided to give it a try. I was skeptical and it
seemed like just too easy of a solution. After the first session I noticed a
decrease in pain - the very next day. I continued with more sessions and soon
the pain was gone. Since then I can honestly testify to being pain free. I am
feeling better, less fatigued and depression is not in my vocabulary anymore.
Co-workers, family and friends have noticed a change in my appearance as well as
my attitude and energy level.
Jin
Shin Jyutsu has been a blessing in my life
empowering me to be in control again, not the disease."

My
name is Pamela Smith. I am 32 years old and have been going through chemo
treatments for the last two years. I have Sweet's Syndrome, which is linked to
Chronic Monocytic Leukemia, Vasculitis, and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. I have
been receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments from Debbie Waxman for almost two
years now. When I received Jin Shin Jyutsu before my chemo treatments, it has
lessened my nausea from the chemo. I also have had constipation and have had
successful results shortly after a session. I feel better and am able to be more
active after receiving sessions from Debbie.
I
am very grateful to her for her treatment sessions. I will continue to receive
these sessions from her for the rest of my life.

I met Debbie
Waxman when she was helping my chihuahua Micro, seen here with her sister
Smidgen. Micro and Smidgen were both born with heart defects and both
required open heart surgery. When we met Debbie, Smidgen had already passed
on and Micro, who had suffered from many illnesses throughout her life, was
dying. I wanted to make this as comfortable for her as I could. We saw
Debbie once a week for about eight months. Each time I took Micro to see
Debbie, I also took Micro to her veterinarian both on the way to Debbie’s
and on the way home. On each occasion, Dr. Anderson noted the change in her
heart rate and overall appearance. Micro looked forward to her treatments
and was much more willing to eat after her visits. Her passing, although
heartbreaking, was easy, and in my arms she truly went to sleep and was not
put to sleep.
I thank Debbie and Jin
Shin Jyutsu for this extra time and
quality of her life.

I
enjoy walking for exercise however for a number of years I have been
experiencing an acute pain between my shoulders while walking. I have seen many
doctors in hopes to find the cause and some relief from this pain with no
success.
Since
going to see Debbie for individual treatment sessions and practicing the Jin
Shin Jyutsu self-help techniques suggested to me I have been
able to walk again without pain. What a great relief it is!!

I
am a 56 year old school teacher who has suffered with migraine headaches since a
small child. As I have gotten older they became more frequent and more
debilitating. Some would last as long as three days. For about six years I had
given myself shots to relieve them. I realized that the shots were causing some
heart damage, so I no longer took them. I was guided by a colleague to Jin Shin Jyutsu as a possible way of learning to relieve my headaches.
It
was in the spring of 2001 that I started going to visit Debbie Waxman, a
certified Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner. With each private treatment session she would teach me
self-help techniques and energy flows. Several times I visited her during a
severe migraine. After each visit my headache would lessen and was completely
gone within the next two hours. Finally I found someone who could help relieve
my migraines.
I
have now been going for almost a year and have discovered which energy flows
work for me. I do the Main Central energy flow every morning and night. I hold
my fingers quite often during the day, a simple but very powerful self-help
technique. By using the energy flows that I have learned on a regular basis, I
have been able to keep from getting migraine headaches.
Jin
Shin Jyutsu
has given me a whole new life!

In
October of 2002, my son Corey was in an auto accident, which left him with a
severe traumatic brain injury. The first night he was in the hospital, they
told us we would have to make the decision to unplug him in the next two
days. While in intensive care, Debbie Waxman came to the hospital and did
Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments on Corey. Among the first things that she worked
on were flows that controlled his racing heartbeat, his body temperature,
and his erratic breathing. Debbie told us that it would take up to 8 hours
before we’d see improvement. However, before she left the room, the nurses
could see improvement on their screens.
While
Corey was in a coma, Debbie told us simple things we could do everyday to
help him. We followed her advice and in 19 days Corey opened one eye. He
would slip back into the coma right away, but at least we knew he was going
to make it. After six weeks of intensive care, he was moved to the next
level down for 10 weeks. Finally, he was moved to neuro rehab for 7 weeks.
Throughout this period of time, Debbie came to the hospital when she could
and continued to advise us over the phone when she couldn’t come. Corey
continued to make progress, was weaned from the ventilator, eventually the
traicheostomy was plugged and he was getting movement in his left limbs.
After
we brought Corey home, medical and neuro problems continued to arise. One
time, Corey was on the verge of pneumonia and we called Debbie at night. She
told us what to do. His breathing regulated and he never actually got
pneumonia. He traicheostomy was surgically closed in Feb. 2004. He had other
surgeries and Debbie would treat him before and after, and he did
well. Debbie continues to treat Corey and this has been helpful in such
problems as neuro spasms, eye and mouth infections, abdominal abscess,
slowed digestion, constipation, urinary problems, alertness, and sense of
well being.
There
is no doubt in my mind that Corey would not be where he is today if it
hadn’t been for Debbie’s help and compassion.
Additionally,
Corey’s physical, occupational, and speech therapists have, over the course
of the last 2 years, made remarks such as, “Did Corey have Jin Shin this
week,” and “When is Corey’s next Jin Shin appointment” because they can
always tell when he starts improving that he’s had Jin Shin in the last few
days. The rehab specialist said, “Make sure you keep that Jin Shin going.”
Since
I, myself, have been going to Debbie, my arthritis pain and chronic
headaches have been reduced by 80%.

Jin
Shin Jyutsu has helped me with my second pregnancy. I began Jin Shin Jyutsu
therapy with Debbie Waxman in my seventh month of pregnancy. I was having a
lot of pressure in my pelvic region and very poor circulation. As I began
seeing Debbie weekly, I had some immediate relief from the sessions. During
the sessions she also taught me some self-help strategies. The thing that
has impressed me the most, about this therapy that was new to me, was the
gradual relief over the weeks. It was incredible. Instead of increased
pressure and circulation problems getting worse towards the end of my
pregnancy, these pregnancy-related symptoms got better! An added benefit to
me was that I didn’t have water-retention or swelling in my feet and
ankles. This is very different from my last pregnancy, in which I had to buy
new shoes and wear a wedding ring that was two sizes larger than my normal
size.
Jin
Shin Jyutsu has made a big difference in my energy and general well being
with this pregnancy.
The labor and delivery of my
baby also went much better. I had a smooth, uncomplicated, and short labor
and delivery. After I had the baby, the nurse told me my blood pressure and
other vitals were looking very good and she commented that I must work out
regularly. I told her that I wish that were true, but I do not have time for
working out very often.
I attribute my well being to the therapy I received from Debbie. I have been
amazed with the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu therapy and how well I felt. I
recommend it to all of my pregnant friends.

I
was dog sitting for my neighbors a few months ago. I noticed one night that
Reba, a medium-sized, athletic dog was walking a little stiffly, but she ate
okay and seemed to feel all right otherwise. By the time I went to feed the
next day, she was completely paralyzed in the hindquarters and cried in pain
whenever I tried to move her. I took her to our regular veterinarian the
following day. He x-rayed her spine which appeared to be healthy. He
couldn't find a reason for the paralysis - no bites, wounds, or swellings,
so he gave her the old, good-for-what-ails-you, standby - Predisone. He said
if I didn't see some improvement in the next 48 hours, then her prognosis
was dismal. There was absolutely no improvement by the next day, so I
brought her to Debbie. Reba was able to "walk" from the car to her house
using her front legs while I supported her rear end with a towel. Her
back feet just dragged. She made no effort to use them. She had her session
with Debbie and was very relaxed and serene. After the session, while
walking back to the car, I was still supporting her rear end, but she was
ACTUALLY USING HER BACK FEET AND MAKING AN EFFORT TO WALK! The
improvement was dramatic. From that moment on she progressively
regained her strength. We did a second session, and she continued to
improve, walking from the car to the house, unaided. We did a third session
a few days later just to reinforce the treatment. She is fine now. She shows
no sign of paralysis and is happy and healthy.
I
can't thank Debbie enough for returning this sweet dog to health with
Jin Shin. It is so miraculous to see, especially with animals. I am so
grateful.

Judy & I both see Debbie on a regular schedule. Judy was suffering from general fatigue, leg cramps, muscle soreness and weakness, and sleeping problems. and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia early in 2008. Her doctor recommended a course of treatment that included Jin Shin Jyutsu. She began the Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments with Debbie Waxman in March and almost immediately saw improvement in her life. Since then, her problems have improved dramatically or completely disappeared. She takes no medicine or other treatment for the fibromyalgia.
I suffer from a desire to remain young in an aging body. I work hard at staying in good physical shape and these efforts have led to knee and shoulder problems. I’ve had a bad back since high school. I don’t always sleep well, some of that caused by the stress of the work world.
Judy recommended that I try the Jin Shin Jyutsu. I know my body pretty well and I have practiced alternative preventive methods for the past 20 years, relying heavily on exercise, the breathing exercises of Dr. Andrew Weil, herbs and vitamins, and some limited meditation. I was open to the benefits that might be provided by Jin Shin Jyutsu.
I began treatments with Debbie in June, 2008. My knee and shoulder problems improved somewhat with these treatments. I subsequently had arthroscropy on the knee (torn meniscus). I had treatments prior to and immediately after surgery and performed flows, as instructed by Debbie, at home daily. I put the crutches away after 3 days, have had virtually no pain, finished therapy in two weeks, and was back in the gym at the end of that two weeks. I believe the Jin Shin Jyutsu, along with my physical condition and positive mental state, was a major factor in my quick recovery.
My back problems have almost disappeared. My sleeping has improved somewhat, although a busy mind still interrupts a good night’s sleep occasionally. I practice some of the Jin Shin Jyutsu exercises on my own, as instructed by Debbie, and find them to be helpful in times of stress. I do the main central flow almost nightly.
The thing that is amazing is Debbie’s ability to tell me what’s ailing me when I go into her office. By holding my forearms, reading my pulse, she can sense what treatment I need on any particular day, without me saying a word. She can sense when my shoulder or knee hurts more than usual and can sense when I am overly stressed, She will tell me when my neck and shoulders are tight from stress and she’s always right. Debbie is extremely talented, she is very skilled in the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, but I call it magic.
Both Judy & I feel our health, mentally and physically, has greatly improved from Debbie’s treatments and believe others who can’t seem to find relief from their ailments would benefit greatly from these treatments. It takes an open mind to accept the possibility of what Jin Shin Jyutsu, applied by a professional, might do for you. We highly recommend Debbie Waxman if you are considering pursuing this treatment.
